Our Aistear topic during October was Hallowe'en. We also dressed up on the last day of the term and had great fun.
We have been using tambourines, cymbals, castanets and triangles to sound out the syllables in words, and also in our music lessons. We have been working on our fine motor skills by threading, cutting, using pegboards, straws and whiteboards. These are all activities to help us get ready for penmanship. We learned a lot about autumn leaves and trees. Teacher brought in horse chestnut leaves and conkers, oak and sycamore leaves and blackberries and hips for us to look at. We talked about the animals who hibernate in autumn. We also painted an autumn tree picture and they are all on display outside our classroom. |
